Precise, Painless Grooming That Fits in a Pocket

A pen-shaped trimmer built for life on the go

Flawless, a hair-removal brand sold across major US retailers, asked us to develop a portable trimmer that removes hair and stubble in a single pass. It had to be pocketable, sleek and dermatologist approved, with no nicks, cuts or bumps. We carried it from design through production.

Overview

Grooming that has to happen anywhere

Between shaves, stubble shows up at the worst moments. Shaving needs water, soap and time, and none of that is easy at work or while traveling. Flawless wanted a tool people could carry anywhere and use dry, in one pass, on legs, arms and the rest of the body.

Key successes

  • Shaped a pen-like body that slips into a purse and feels natural in the hand
  • Built in LED lights that reveal fine hairs, even in dim rooms
  • Used 18-karat gold-plated heads to avoid metal allergies and resist corrosion
  • Passed durability and drop tests before shipping

Approach

Inspired by an everyday pen

Because the trimmer would be used at work or on the road, we shaped it like a pen. The familiar form makes it intuitive to hold and easy to carry. We also built in LED lights that reveal fine hairs, even in dim rooms, and a rechargeable battery so it is ready anytime.

The solution

Small details that protect the skin

  • Pen-shaped body→slips into a bag and feels natural in the hand
  • Built-in LED lights→reveal fine hairs for accurate trimming
  • 18K gold-plated heads→avoid common metal allergies and resist wear from moisture and oils
  • Rechargeable battery→no spare batteries to carry

Ready for production

We worked with our factory on DFM, injection material review and final tweaks. After a sample batch, we ran durability and drop tests to the client's requirements.

Impact

Smooth skin, anytime, anywhere

Flawless Body Touch Up launched under the Finishing Touch Flawless brand and was sold at US retailers including Walmart. It works dry on legs, arms and across the body, with no soap, water or lotion needed.
